BHARI SIMLA MIRCH

  INGREDIENTS:
  • 4 large capsicums.

  • 1 tablespoon oil.

  • ¾ tablespoon ajwain.

  • 1 onion, chopped.

  • Green chillies to taste, finely chopped.

  • 350 grams cottage cheese, crumbled.

  • ½ teaspoon garam masala, salt and pepper to taste.

 

METHOD :

Slice the capsicum in half along the length thus making two “boats” out of each.

Put the oil in a shallow, microwave safe-dish. Microwave at 100% power for 2 minutes. Drop in the ajwain. Microwave at the same level for 1 minute. Add the onion, and green chilli. Cook another 2 minutes.

  Add the cottage cheese, stir and cook 2 minutes. Stand 3 – 4 minutes. Add the salt pepper and garam masala.

  Pile this cottage cheese mixture into the capsicum. To serve, microwave, covered at 100% for 3 minutes. Stand 3 minutes.

  Serves 4.

VARIATION :

This mixture is the simplest way of cooking cottage cheese. You could of course add tomatoes to it and more spices. You may also like to top the stuffing with crisp breadcrumbs.

For another variation, stuff with minced meat or any other vegetable combinations. Potatoes go very well.
